Soft Homemade Oreo Cookies
These soft homemade Oreo cookies are easy to make and taste delicious. With a soft, chewy chocolate cookie and a creamy filling these cookies are always a hit.
- 2 boxes Devil's Food cake mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ cups shortening
- 8 oz plain cream cheese
- 1 stick room temperature butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Heat oven to 350°
Sift the contents of two Devil's Food cake mixes into a large mixing bowl
Add 4 eggs and 1 1/2 cups of shortening and mix together.
Form the dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Press down each one lightly with your fingers.
Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool for a minute or two on the baking sheet before removing to a cooling rack. Cool completely.
Prepare the cream filling by adding the 1 stick of butter and 8 oz. cream cheese. Cream together.
Add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla and mix together.
Spread the cream filling onto the flat side of a cookie and top with another cookie of similar size.
